To evaluate the comparative attributes of a tibial plateau levelling osteotomy (TPLO) plate with angled dynamic compression holes versus a commercially available TPLO plate, an ovine cadaveric model was employed.
Using a custom-designed securement apparatus, forty ovine tibias were secured, and radiopaque markers were added for the purpose of facilitating radiographic measurements. A custom-made, six-hole, 35mm angled compression plate (APlate), or a standard six-hole, 35mm commercial plate (SPlate), was used for each tibia undergoing the standard TPLO procedure.
